We here at Digital Tribe Games are not only supporters of, but big fans of the personalities and communities that use YouTube, Twitch, hitbox and other videogame video and streaming services. It is your time and effort in playing and sharing our games that help us help the independent developers and legacy IP owners we work with and we thank you for your support. Please find our permission statement below regarding the recording and sharing of videos of our games:

PERMISSION STATEMENT

Digital Tribe Games, hereafter referred to as “the publisher,” grants the following rights to the community:

Using the guidelines below, the publisher grants permission for users to make videos (walkthroughs, Let’s Play, reviews, etc.) with the publisher’s game content, images, audio, music, and/or cutscenes and publish to YouTube, Twitch, hitbox or similar digital services.

Specifically:

– Do not take assets from our games (e.g. voice, music, items) and distribute them separately
– Do not charge or restrict users from access to your videos
– Do not sell or license your videos to others for payment of any kind
– Keep videos focused on gaming and away from overtly controversial topics

Failure to abide by these content guidelines may result in the publisher having the video removed. The publisher will, at its sole discretion, determine if a video does not comply with these content guidelines.

You are free to monetize videos via the partner programs with YouTube, Twitch, hitbox, Justin.tv, Blip.tv, Ustream.tv, or similar services whereby a website may pay you for views of a video if you are accepted into their partner program.

The publisher retains all ownership and rights of its produced content, and may terminate or change the terms of this agreement at its sole discretion.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

RE: Spec Ops: The Line.

If you wish to record or stream any video from Spec Ops: The Line you must adhear to the policies as dictated by 2K Games which can be found here –> http://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/articles/201335153-Policy-on-posting-copyrighted-2K-material

Question: Am I allowed to post game footage on YouTube or other websites? Can I use copyrighted material on fan sites if it is for non-commercial use and doesn’t have spoilers?

Answer: Generally, 2K does not object to fans using materials for non-commercial uses in a manner which does not intentionally spoil the plot for others. “Non-commercial” means that you don’t sell site membership, use the material to promote a product you sell on the site like a shirt or wallpaper, or use other advertising-driven monetization. 2K does reserve the right to have its copyrighted material taken down at any time. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact copyright@take2games.com

We’re happy for fans to upload footage of their gameplay – we love seeing fan-made videos and even share some of them with our fans on Facebook and Twitter from time to time. We do have just a few guidelines that we ask you to follow if you are going to post or stream on video sharing sites.

To make our position on this subject easier to understand, we have put together a list of content that, if posted, would result in a take-down notice:

– Pre-Release Footage: No pre-release leaked footage of any kind: Any posting of in-game footage from leaked copies of the game prior to its official release date will be taken down, regardless of how the game was obtained. This includes “early unboxing” videos.
– Spoilers: Posting video showing the ending of the game, pure cutscenes or any other big reveal in the story. It’s ok to show cutscenes as part of a larger play-through (or in a narrated ‘Let’s Play’ type video) but isolated videos of the game’s cinematics will be removed. If you are unsure if what you want to post is considered a spoiler, please contact copyright@take2games.com and describe exactly what scene you are wondering about and in what context the scene would appear.

Lastly, we do reserve the right to remove content we find objectionable on a case-by-case basis and to change our policy from time to time, but we do promise that if there is anything we do change we will make sure to let you know.

Bethesda Video Policy

We encourage (and are big fans of) the many videos created by our community that use assets from our games – including, but not limited to “Let’s Play” videos, instructional videos demonstrating our modding tools, and fan service tributes using gameplay and music from our games. We’re okay (and encourage) these videos being posted on video services like YouTube or on your personal website and/or blog. It’s also okay for you to monetize your videos via the YouTube partner program and similar programs on other video sharing sites. Keep in mind that if you use content from someone else (i.e., music) you will have to get permission from the owner as well. If you run into issues with this process, please reference this page when talking to site administrators. Due to the large number of videos created based upon our games, we ask that you reference this post when corresponding with YouTube or other video services.Note: There are particular cases where we may pull down or request videos be removed. Such cases include, but are not limited to:

– Posting leaked video content from illegally obtained versions of our game or share information on illegally obtaining our games. This includes retailers that break violate our release dates.
– Videos, including Beta content, that violate non-disclosure agreements between our company and players.
– Videos that feature wildly inappropriate content. While we’re generally okay with most content, some content crosses a line we’re not comfortable with.
– Any videos that we deem need to be removed – because, let’s be honest, people come up with stuff that hasn’t even occurred to us yet.

We hope this answers questions regarding our video policy. Thank you for supporting our games.
